Marinas and getting to Great Yarmouth

Tar Works Road is home to the Great Yarmouth Yacht Station. The Station operates from 8am – 8pm. There is a variety of amenities on offer to its visitors Amenities include £1 showers, free water, electric charging points for £1, and access to power outlets. Conveniently the Yacht Station is only a 10 minute walk to Great Yarmouth town centre and around a 30 minute walk to the closest beach. Mooring fees are not extortionate, with daytime mooring at £8 and overnight mooring at £16 For added security and further ease the Yacht station offers lighting at night. You cannot pre book a mooring spot.

Driving to and parking in Great Yarmouth

If you are coming from Norwich just follow the A47 but you can get to Great Yarmouth via all the major roads into Norfolk which are M11, A11, A47 and A14 from London and the south-east while anyone from the Midlands and the North can use the A47 and A14.

Great Yarmouth offers on-street parking as well as car parks. We would recommend that you park along the Marine Parade which features street parking and car parks such as Anchor Gardens car park, Jetty North car park and Jetty South car park. Jetty North, South and Anchor gardens all charge £3 per hour.

Public transport

There are a variety of intercity trains between Norwich and London Liverpool Street. The average journey time via train is 2 hours. There are connecting services from the Midlands, the North of England and Scotland via Peterborough, Cambridge and Ely. From Norwich there is a link that will take you directly to Great Yarmouth station.

You can also get local bus routes such as the X1 and X11 that starts in Norwich goes through Acle, Great Yarmouth, Gorleston, Hopton and terminates at Lowestoft or you can get the X2 or X22 that will take you to or from Norwich city centre but also goes through local places such as Loddon, Beccles, Pakefield before arriving at Lowestoft.
