Some of the oak trees in the park are just as ancient as the pond, with experts estimating they’ve been growing in the area for over 950 years.

If you’re a fan of all things horticultural, you’ll love exploring the fantastic display of candelabra primulas. The best naturalised collection of these plants in the UK, they’re best seen in May. The garden is also home to a beautiful display of rhododendrons – especially imported from the Himalayas – and a stunning selection of camellias.
