Route

The Fleggburgh to Stokesby walk begins at the village hall in Fleggburgh. Located close the Kings Arms in the centre of the village, the hall is easy to find and parking is available nearby. From the hall, take the footpath almost opposite the pub towards Silver Street. Turn right when you come out onto the road and then walk along Beach Lane. Just as the tarmac runs out, you’ll see a footpath straight in front of you. This will lead you along a raised footpath on the side of Muck Fleet Dyke down to the banks of the River Bure.

Just over halfway through your walk, you’ll reach the pretty village of Stokesby. With its picturesque houses, characterful church and choice of amenities, it’s a good place to stop for a rest before tackling the rest of the route. Most of the return leg takes you through woodland and open countryside. Just before you reach Burgh Common, you’ll re-join the tarmac road and be led back into the centre of Fleggburgh.
